Jon Young was born and raised on the outskirts of Houston in Kingwood, Texas. He is an alumnus of the University of Texas and the American Film Institute. He worked on various Dream Works Animation films, including Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar 2. He wrote the family film A Christmas Eve Miracle, and co-wrote the family films A Magic Christmas and the Hallmark TV movie JL Family Ranch starring Jon Voight and James Caan. Jon“s golden retriever, Lebowski, was the inspiration for the book.
