Lorenzo was born with neurofibromatosis, an illness that resulted in tumors all over his body. This illness and its physical symptoms causes difficulties with both adults and children. It became his greatest challenges early in life, following him into adulthood and eventually putting his life in jeopardy in the form of a brain tumor.

He was a banker for twenty-seven years, retiring in August of 2012 as an assistant vice president at Keybank NA.
