Michael Adams has been a writer, photographer, speech writer and editor during a 30-year career in journalism, public relations and marketing. He has been a freelance writer for a variety of national and regional magazines and newspapers and is the author of an award-winning play, “China, ” and a travel memoir titled “Our Man in Stavropol.” He’s a journalism graduate of the University of Iowa and spent four years in the U.S. Air Force stationed in the United Kingdom. He was born in Washington, D.C., but has lived in Iowa for the past 35 years, the last 20 years in Des Moines.
