About the author

Catherine Sampson was born in a small town in northern Ontario. She grew up with an inherited love of horses. Her life’s work has been a passionate connection to the psyche of the horse. Her adventurous years between the irons, has brought her much joy, sadness and indeed empowerment. Her ridden path has taken her from the timber lands in the north, to the mountainous terrain in southern Spain, to the wilds of the Okavango Delta in Africa and all that lies in between. Follow a story trail of euphoria, danger, tragedy and deep resolution.

A master horse trainer for forty years and breeder of many champion Morgan horses, Catherine Sampson is also an accomplished writer. Her numerous articles on equine care and training have been published in many national horse magazines.

Today, Mrs. Sampson continues to inspire fledgling riders with her private lesson program. She can still be found in the training arena, developing young horses into seasoned mounts and impressive harness horses to trot the tanbark.
