Kierkegaard and Nietzsche revive an ancient approach to ethics that evaluates different ways of life considered as a whole. Comparing and contrasting their respective ideals of faith and individual sovereignty, this work reveals a valuable new path for contemporary ethics.

Thomas P. Miles is Adjunct Assistant Professor at Boston College, USA. He is a Fulbright scholar who holds degrees in philosophy from Yale University, Cambridge University, and the University of Texas at Austin. He has published numerous articles on Kierkegaard and Nietzsche, as well as Wittgenstein, Hume, and Dante.
