In this book, Carter tells the history of the Mid-east and his personal experience of making contacts with major politicians in this region, and discloses some rarely-known inside stories. As the US president, Carter facilitated the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel, got involved in the affairs of Mid-east in the long term, and travelled to Palestine to observe the election on invitation in 2005. Therefore, he has a deep understanding of the origin of conflicts in the Mid-east, the main cause of long-term confrontation between Israel and the Arab world, the difficulties of people in Palestine, and solutions to these problems.
