Misty Rain in Peking 

The Misty Rain in Peking tells the story of Ge Yunqing, who is a successful businessman in north China. Ge Yunqing is famous for "three mores"- more business, more houses, and more women, therefore his nickname is Mr. "Ge Three More". Mr. Ge married one concubine after another, but still has no son, so his family becomes a "kingdom of women". After the Lugou Bridge Incident, in order to protect his family, Ge Yunqing relocated his family to Peking, and put all his concubines into one big house. When women get together, they started to fight for his favor, and became jealous of each other. They turned the big house into a bloodless arena. Ge Yunqing lived with his concubines, and enjoyed their flattery. But he did not know that all his concubines have their own plans: some of them laid eyes on his big fortune, some colluded with each other to grab his business, and some had an affair with other men. Ge Yunqing was set up by his former roommate in Japan, and his business empire finally collapsed under the joint attack by the Japanese invaders, state enemies and insiders. His adopted daughter, Ling Zi, was very smart and lovely, but led a wandering life in poverty. Before the liberation of Peking, Ling Zi was forced to return to her family and witnessed the downfall of the Ge Family. After the founding of the People”s Republic, Ling Zi met Ye Yufeng, who was the brother of Ye Yulan, Ge Yunqing”s third concubine. Ye Yufeng chased Ling Zi unscrupulously, and made her pregnant before marriage, and forced her to marry him. Ye Yufeng was psychologically distorted, and sexually perverted. He tortured Ling Zi by all means, and they finally got divorced… Life is like a play, and the curtain shall fall. The swallow in the hall of old Ge Family now fly into the house of ordinary people.
