Yellow River and Chinese Civilization 

The Yellow River is the mother river of the Chinese nation. Since ancient times, Anlan on the Yellow River has been the guarantee and symbol of the people”s live and work and the country”s prosperity. So, why is the Yellow River the mother river? What kind of relationship does she have with the Chinese nation, how did she nurture a glorious civilization, how did her unique appearance formed, and how should it be governed? Ge Jianxiong, a senior professor at Fudan University and a librarian from the Central Museum of Literature and History, wrote the book The Yellow River and Chinese Civilization to answer these questions. Professor Ge Jianxiong was once the director of the Institute of Historical Geography of Fudan University and is a first-class expert in the field of historical geography. He was taught by Mr. Tan Qixiang and has been paying attention to the field of river culture for many years. The "Introduction" part at the beginning of this book expounds the relationship between rivers and human civilization in a high-level manner, and provides a full argument for the governance of the Yellow River and the importance of the Yellow River from a theoretical perspective. It has both detailed data and theoretical height, as well as professional geographic mapping and many magnificent aerial photos.
