Lewis Carroll (1832–1898), born Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, was an English author known primarily for Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass and the celebrated nonsense poem, The Hunting of the Snark. A gifted student, it was natural that he become a teacher of mathematics and the author, under his real name, of several mathematical texts.
