About the author

Dr. Mel Goldstein has been best known as the chief meteorologist for News Channel 8 in Connecticut and is the author of the Complete Idiot’s Guide to Weather and Dr. Mel’s Connecticut Climate Book. Connecticut Magazine selected Goldstein as the ‘Best in Connecticut On-Air Meteorologist’ for 9 consecutive years, and he was recently inducted into their Hall of Fame. The National Academy of TV Arts and Sciences recently presented Goldstein with their twenty-five-year Silver Circle Award for performance and public service.
