Sobre o autor

Marlene Wasserman (Dr Eve) is an experienced clinical sexologist and couple and sex therapist in private practice. She specialises in sexual medicine and forensic sexology and has a special interest in onco-sexology. She spends the majority of her time in her therapy room with couples – and individuals – on her couch. Marlene is a parent, a partner, a person. In addition to practising international standards of clinical work, she is an author, an educator, a media personality and a sexual activist. She devotes her life with passion to educating, informing, and ensuring the sexual and reproductive health rights of all people. She teaches sexual medicine at the medical school of the University of Cape Town and regularly presents papers at international scientific meetings. She is a member of the executive board of the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) and a member of the Sexual Rights Committee of WAS. She is also a temporary adviser to the World Health Organization (WHO). She is an award-winning writer with columns in many local magazines such as ‘Natural Medicine’, ‘Longevity’, ‘Psychologies’, ‘Sarie’ and ‘Playboy’. She also writes on request for many international and national magazines and newspapers, and has been published in a number of academic journals. Education, a desire for justice and a fascination with untangling people’s complex sexual and intimate relationships, both online and offline, drive Marlene’s passion for life. Sexual health and sexual rights form the cornerstone of all her work. Her multiple roles as clinician, sexual rights activist with an emphasis on women’s rights, writer and educator enable her to reach people and encourage them to think critically and to make a difference to their lives. Out of necessity, she also tries to get some sleep!
