I’M a Happy-Go-Lucky Dog! 

When Poppy was a puppy, he was dropped off at the animal shelter. While he still had his baby teeth and puppy breath, a nice man adopted him. Poppy, a Yorkshire terrier, feels very fortunate to live with his new dad and his mom.

He has a lot of toys, including his favorite purple bear. He travels on a lot of trips and see special places, like the mountains and the beach. Poppy gets to ride on a boat and learn to fish. He even acts in a Broadway musical.

Through his many experiences, Poppy feels the deep love of his dad and mom, and he is indeed a very happy and lucky dog.

Jon J. Miller is a retired musician and former director of navy bands. He is a graduate of the Navy School of Music, Hawaii Pacific University, Columbia College, and Webster University. Jon is a winner of the prestigious George S. Howard Citation of Musical Excellence award, and he is internationally recognized for outstanding leadership and for achieving a high standard of musical excellence as a military bandleader. Jon lives in Chapin, South Carolina, with his dog, Poppy.
