Corpus of Huang Tifang (volume 1) 

Huang Tifang (1832-1899), who was born in Ruian, Zhejiang Province, was called Mr. Ruian. He also styled himself as Sulan, Xuyin, Chunyin, Shounan, Dongou Hanshan Old man. In the first year of Xianfeng (1851), he was elected a scholar, and in the second year of Tongzhi (1863), he was elected Shujishi. He was later appointed as an editor of the Hanlin Academy. He also worked in the education departments in Fujian, Shandong and Jiangsu. He worked as a cabinet bachelor and left assistant minister of the Ministry of Military Affairs. He was called " the four men who like to offer suggestions" with Zhang Zhidong, Zhang Peilun, Bao Ting. They were men of high moral character. This book is a collection of Huang Tifang”s works. It is one of The Collection of Collected Works of Modern Chinese Characters. It has a total of 550, 000 words and is divided into eight volumes. It systematically arranges Huang Tifang”s memorials, letters, prefaces and postscripts, eulogies, couplets, rhymes and notes. The appendix at the back of the book contains the comments of Huang Tifang and Huang Tifang”s chronology compiled according to the new research results.
