In the winter of Jianlong”s first year (Song Dynasty), Zhao Kuangyin, Emperor Taizu of Song quickly settled the rebellion of Li Chongjin, governor of Huainan. After Yangzhou was settled by Zhao Kuangyin, the Emperor of Southern Tang, Li Jing was pressed to send messengers to the Song Dynasty to fix the relation. Zhao Kuangyin ordered Wang Chengyan to Southern Tang to force Li Jing to relocate in Nanchang Prefecture as soon as possible, and secretly interfere with the prince crowing in the Southern Tang in order to better promote its strategy to unify Central China. Tang Feng, the messenger of Southern Tang, was ambushed and killed returning. Li Jing doubted that Tang Feng”s death is related to the fight between the Sixth Prince Cong Jia and Seventh Prince Cong Shan for the crown, resulting in a crisis to the Southern Tang. However, it was more than that. Tang Feng”s death was actually involving the wars among Song, Southern Han, Wu, Yue and other states. Every kingdom is experiencing dramatic changes.
