Dr Bob East is an Australian researcher and author whose area of interest is criminality and terrorism in the southern Philippines. His previous publications, dealing specifically with terrorist events in the greater Mindanao region of the southern Philippines, include Terror Truncated: The Decline of the Sabu Sayyaf from the Crucial Year 2002 (2013); 472 Days Captive of the Abu Sayyaf (2015); The Neo Abu Sayyaf (2016); and 21st Century Philippine Piracy. His alma mater is the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
