‘A Tale of Two Cities’ (1859) is the second historical novel by Charles Dickens, set in London and Paris before and during the French Revolution. The novel tells the story of the French Doctor Manette, his 18-year-long imprisonment in the Bastille in Paris and his release to life in London with his young adult daughter Lucie, whom he had never met and who is married with a French nobleman. Despite this a close family friend confesses his love to her.

Dickens considered “A Tale of Two Cities” to be the best novel that he had ever written. With well over 200 million copies sold, it ranks among the most famous works in the history of fictional literature. It is a sweeping narrative that explores the best and the worst of the human character and condition.

This edition is decorated with the beautiful illustrations by Hablot Knight Browne aka Phiz (1815-1882). The size of the e Book is about 450 pages.
