Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828-1882) founded the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood in 1848, and profoundly shaped Victorian aesthetic ideas and practices. A well-known romantic poet as well, Rossetti was famous for lyrical works such as The Blessed Damozel.
