H. Adlai Murdoch is Professor of French and Francophone Literature at Tufts University. He is the author of Creole Identity in the French Caribbean Novel, and Creolizing the Metropole: Migratory Metropolitan Caribbean Identities in Literature and Film. He is also the co-editor of the essay collections Postcolonial Theory and Francophone Literary Studies, and Metropolitan Mosaics and Melting-Pots: Paris and Montreal in Francophone Literatures. He has edited special issues of Research in African Literatures, the International Journal of Francophone Studies, and the Journal of Caribbean Literatures, and his articles have appeared in numerous journals, including Callaloo, Yale French Studies, Research in African Literatures, L”Esprit créateur, and Revue des sciences humaines.Zsuzsanna Fagyal is Associate Professor of French Linguistics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is the author of French: A Linguistic Introduction (2006) and Accents de Banlieues (2010). She published multiple journal articles and book chapters on social networks (Lingua), the sounds of French (Probus, Journal of Phonetics), language variation and change in Parisian French (Cahiers de Sociolinguistique), and ethnic styles of speaking in France. She is also Associate Editor of the Journal of French Language Studies, Faits de Langue, and Lynx. Her forthcoming single- and co-authored books deal with language and minorities in Europe, and speech, ethnicity, and the media in contemporary France.
