Loveness Mapuva is a Lecturer of Law at the Midlands State University, Zimbabwe, and has authored several journal and media articles on children”s rights and civil liberties. She has a wealth of experience in human rights discourse and democratic practice. Her publications include “Zimbabwe”s New Constitutional Dispensation and Children”s Right to Education” in Peace and Conflict Monitor; “The Citizen Participation / Democracy Dichotomy” in International Journal of Politics and Good Governance; “International Law, Sanctity of Life and the Right to Life: A Critical Analysis” in International Journal of Politics and Law Research; and “State, Civil Society and Human Rights in Zimbabwe” in International Journal of Politics and Law Research among others.Jephias Mapuva is a Senior Lecturer in Development Studies at the Bindura University of Science Education, Zimbabwe, and has authored numerous journal articles on local governance, democracy, civil society and citizen participation, all of which fall within his research interests. His publications include the articles “The Troubled Electoral Contestation in Zimbabwe” in International Journal of Political Science and Development; “Civil Society and the Democratic Virtue in Zimbabwe” International Journal of Civil Society Law; “Militarisation of Public Institutions, Flawed Elections and Curtailed Citizen Participation” in Journal of Legislative Studies; and “Elections and Electoral Processes in Africa: A Gimmick or a Curse” in African Journal of History and Culture. He is also the author of Civil Society and Local Governance: Case Study of the Combined Harare Residents” Association (2010), Challenges to Urban Democratic Governance in Zimbabwe (2014), and Zimbabwe”s Post-Colonial Dispensation (2014).
