Mariam John Meynert is an Educationist with interests in health and nutrition, community development, poverty alleviation, women, feminism, gender issues, children and childhood matters. She is a Swedish citizen of Asian Indian origin and a doctoral student at the Division of Education in the Department of Sociology at the University of Lund, Sweden. In 2014, she was awarded a Licentiate of Philosophy (in Education) by the University of Lund. She has worked as an Assistant Professor in Rural Community Development at the College of Home Science at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pant Nagar, India, and as a Bilateral Associate Expert (SIDA) at the Department of Adult Education at the Ministry of Education in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia.
