In daily life, if something unexpected happens, the day is unusual; if nothing happens (although the potential factors are not revealed), the day ends in boredom and monotony. Some of the factors of abnormal events are potentially in people themselves; some are not related to people but are potentially influential from outside. The former is predictable and can be expected; the latter is completely accidental and unexpected. In ordinary life, these two factors are more or less intertwined.



    The man who got up and got into the bath was called Noboru Kuwayama, a prosecutor at the Osaka District Prosecutor’s Office. However, he did not come to this hot spring in Kyushu because of his work – it is better known as Musashi Onsen than its current name, Chikushi-gun X-town in Fukuoka Prefecture. His former boss, the prosecutor of the Fukuoka District Prosecutor’s Office, who had helped him, had died of an illness, and he came to Hakata to offer his condolences. Noboru Kuwayama had a stomach problem and he was very thin.
