World War II 

World War II (September 1, 1939 – September 2, 1945) was a war of unprecedented scale launched by the fascist countries of Germany, Italy and Japan in human history. More than 60 countries and regions and more than 2 billion people have been involved in the war, with the combat area covering 22 million square kilometers. The military and civilian casualties totaled more than 70 million, and the losses amounted to 4 trillion US dollars. The Second World War ended with the victory of the anti-fascist countries of the United States, the Soviet Union, Britain and China and people around the world over the fascist aggressors to win world peace.
