Professor Zo’llner, the author and chief deponent, in whose house many of the facts he records occurred, was born in 1834, and is thus in the mature vigour of his intellectual life. He is Professor of Physics and Astronomy in the University of Leipsic, and has taken place in the front ranks of the scientific men of Europe.
