Queen Zixi of Ix 

L. Frank Baum’s ‘Queen Zixi of Ix’, (1905) takes place in the lands of Noland and Ix, two regions adjacent to Oz. The fantasy novel tells the story of a magic cloak made by the fairies of the forest of Burzee that grants the wearer one wish. 683-year-old Queen Zixi who appears to be 16 to all, covets the cloak in order to reverse a curse which makes mirrors reflect her true age. Thought by its author to be his finest work, it was adapted into a silent film ‘The Magic Cloak of Oz’ in 1914.
