Stefan Weidner, geboren 1967, studierte Islamwissenschaften, Germanistik und Philosophie in Göttingen, Damaskus, Berkeley und Bonn. Er lebt als freischaffender Autor und Journalist in Köln. Im Ammann Verlag erschien zuletzt sein von der Kritik gefeierter erzählter Essay Mohammedanische Versuchungen (2004), für welchen er den Clemens-Brentano-Preis der Stadt Heidelberg erhielt.
