After retiring with more than twenty years as a federal agent, Bernard used his experience in violent crimes gained through both growing up and working in the streets of Los Angeles, combined with his love of expression through art and literature to write his books. A Southern California native, Bernard now lives with his wife Diane in Las Vegas, Nevada.
