Bobbie Ruth Lavender graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Education in 1959 and a Master of Education in 1964. Ms. Lavender’s sorority is Alpha Omicron Pi. She held offices in her sorority and served in several on campus organizations. She taught school in Roanoke, Virginia and surrounding areas for 30 years. Ms. Lavender presently substitutes in Roanoke County and Roanoke City public schools. Some of her hobbies consist of baking, sewing, bowling and playing bridge. She also loves spending time and engaging in activities with her two granddaughters. Ms. Lavender resides in Roanoke with her husband, Charles Lavender, and her three dogs and two cats.
