Bekkers holds a Master“s Degree from the University of Wisconsin. Since 1989 he has worked at St. Vincent“s Hospital in Green Bay and he has been the facilitator of the „Understanding Grief“ and „Taking Time“ cancer support groups since 1990. He resides in Denmark, Wisconsin, with his wife and two daughters.
