In the Dust of Shadows encapsulates the truly unique voice of author, Isabella Poulos, as each poem personifies an object, emotion, or idea. Every poem is paired with one of the authors original creature drawings that, in themselves, tells a story. This book encapsulates the beauty of everyday things and offers a deep perspective as to the significance of miniscule moments and the life that lies within each object, even those that are inanimate. Isabella Poulos carefully presents her poems with their mirror drawing to engage all the senses and offer a visual representation of the emotion behind each piece of writing.

Born in Los Angeles in 1996, Isabella Poulos is currently a senior in high school. She is an active member of her community and is dedicated to achieving social justice in countries around the world, specifically Nepal. Isabella lives with her family in Southern California and will be attending college in the fall of 2014.
