The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh has answered hundreds of thousands of questions in the fields of science and technology. Established in 1902, The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh was the first major library to devote a separate department to science and technology. Since then, it has patiently answered reference questions from patrons at a rate of more than 80, 000 per year. The answers to many of those questions have been collected and compiled for The Handy Science Answer Book.
