Michael Hawley is the author of both True Crime nonfiction, specifically, the 1888 Jack the Ripper murders mystery, and Mystery/Crime fiction. He has appeared on true crime TV documentaries as an expert on the History Channel in the History“s Greatest Mysteries series and on the Travel Channel in the Legend Hunter series. He has recently been asked to be on Netflix“s Unsolved Mysteries as an expert for their upcoming Jack the Ripper episode. Michael has lectured on Jack the Ripper suspect Dr. Francis Tumblety in Liverpool, England, as well as multiple cities across the eastern United States. He is a cohost on NBC Radio“s House of Mystery and has been a guest on both national and local radio. He has also participated in over a twenty national and international podcasts. Michael holds a Master“s degree in science (invertebrate paleontology) and secondary science education at State University of New York, College of Buffalo, and a Bachelor“s degree in geology and geophysics at Michigan State University. He is a commander and naval aviator in the U.S. Navy (retired), and is currently enjoying a career in secondary science education. He resides with his wife and six children in Greater Buffalo, New York.
