Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The first edition of this work having been favourably received by the Press and the Public and demands for a second edition being said to be urgent, I have undertaken to publish this new edition. And in doing so, I have improved and brought the work up to date, and have endeavoured to remedy the defects pointed out by the Press with reference to the first edition in a kindly spirit.
