According to the notice from the editor at the start: ‚The initial edition of In the Year 2889 was published in the Forum in February of 1889, on page 262. The following year, it was published in France. Despite being published under Jules Verne’s name, it is today thought to be primarily, if not entirely, the work of Jules‘ son, Michel Verne. In any case, many of the ideas in the article are similar to those of Jules Verne.‘
