Terence Rodgers, private investigator, lives in the city of Canaan, in the imaginary state of North Colorado.  Born in 1930, he once had a great career.  He came to believe that Life, with a capital, “L, ” conspired against him and he became disillusioned in the mid-sixties.  Now, in 1986, he merely goes through the motions.  His life is like his office, outdated, tired, and in need of major reworking.  An angry uncle, a missing heiress, and a young amnesiac with green eyes are about to shake up his somnambulistic routine.  In the card game of life every man needs a Queen of Hearts.

About the author

Tashna Erin La Vaux has been writing professionally since she was a Computer Science major in college. Originally, she wrote articles and reference books on the Lakota language for the famous Lakota.Com. Raised bi-lingual in Lakota (Sioux) and English, her language skills became a passionate subject for her as friends were always asking her to teach them Lakota. She put together a few every day words for them and her excitement to share grew from there. Before she knew it, she was writing articles and eventually reference books and even software teaching every day Lakota. Her language work ended up in some pretty exciting places like used by the director of the movie Hidalgo, listed on Encarta and even National Geographic. Eventually, Tashna’s writing began branching out. She added children’s titles, created a free online story site and started her own publishing company. She now produces books for other writers as well as herself. Tashna and the Author have been old friends for almost two decades.
