A young, independent student finds herself madly in love with her best friends boyfriend, Nick, that she had no other choice than to betray her friend to be with the guy that she believed was her Mr. Right. Only after all the trouble of being unloyal and hurting her friend, she breaks up with him after the painful discovery that he was cheating with her classmate, which was not entirely true. Failing to fathom what happened, she grew stubborn and allowed pride to consume her, so she refused to listen to Nick, who was trying to get her to forgive him. Pride began to reign in their lives such that all they did was to hurt each other. They both found themselves in the battle of breaking each others hearts all because they would not swallow their pride and get back together, and they tried as hard but never ceased to stop loving each other. When the situation got out of hand, Nicole found herself depressed over the fact that she had lost Nick for good until they reunited seven years later and declared their love.

About the author

As a member of the most vulnerable, inexperienced, and hopeful class in society across the world, I believe that the youth has important messages to communicate to the world and possess an interesting perspective on social and communal life. It is in this realm that the voice of people my age is taken into consideration because this is where the future of literary text lays with the coming generation. My experiences as youth and a black female in a huge sociopolitical arena where social and political issue ensue speak to the ways in which society has changed and how we, the current youth, view the world. Furthermore, imagination and escapism from harsh reality and the quest for the truth about true love and the ultimate role for an upcoming woman lead to fantasies mixed with reference to real-life events from my personal space and people around it. I, like lower social economical class, young black woman hail from humble settlement in Limpopo in South Africa. I am a young lady who wants to bring change to her life. Writing this book is the first step and getting it published is the first step that I am taking to get the world to know about what I am capable of, and also to inspire young people like me to take risks and do what they love. Not only do I write, but I also sing and draw.
