Preparation To Take Off 

Even though he was only twenty-seven years old, he’d led an active life. After serving a year in Afghanistan as part of a forward squad, he’d been wounded and sent home. Once back in the states the Marines declared that he was now unfit for further service and they discharged him with a hefty fifty percent disability. Even with part of his right lung gone and one of his ribs removed, he still functioned well enough for most jobs, but he didn’t want just any old job, he wanted to do something exciting, something that made his blood race through his veins.
