Have you ever stopped to think that many children are unaware of old photos, traditional games, and never made a collection of elements from nature, such as shells or pebbles? Authors Bete Rodrigues and Juliana Gatti brought to the readers the story of a mother who presents her childhood memory box to her children. Published by Literare Books International and illustrated by Helena De Cortez, the book brings an informative and welcoming language about nature and its biodiversity to the universe of children.

There are three ways for children to develop skills: through examples and the opportunity to practice, test hypotheses, take risks. In the story, the mother sets examples for her children, offers choices and encourages their interaction with the most diverse natural elements and landscapes in various playful and useful activities, and puts creativity into practice by suggesting ideas, exchanges, questions, conversations, observations and the expression of their feelings and needs. Values of respect, care, affection and empathy can also be stimulated and developed in relation to natural environments, plants and animals, which can be understood through the stories and dynamics proposed in the work.

Since her early childhood she was inspired and nourished by nature through its landscapes, beings, textures, colors, sounds, and elements. Creator of Instituto Árvores Vivas, a civil society organization that has been in existence since Spring 2006, whose purpose is to sow people’s integral relationship with nature for the quality and enhancement of life. Ph D student in Landscape Architecture and Urban Ecology. Master´s in Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Development by ESCAS, from the Ecological Research Institute. Specialized in Sustainable Design by Gaia Education and Certified by the Climate Reality Leadership Corps.
