Dennis D»Agostino has worked for the New York Knicks as a public relations executive and historian for more than two decades. He is currently the Knicks» team historian and staff writer, following a 12-year tenure as a full-time member of the team»s public relations department, most recently as director of publications and broadcast services, and three additional years as publications consultant. He continues to serve as editor of the Knicks» game program, and as a primary contributor to the team media guide, website and yearbook. D»Agostino joined the Knicks in 1987 following five years (1983-87) as assistant public relations director of the New York Mets, earning a World Championship ring in the Mets» unforgettable 1986 season. His professional career began with five years (1978-83) on the New York sports desk of The Associated Press, where he wrote and edited copy for the AP»s national sports wire. A 1978 graduate of Fordham University (BA, Communications), D»Agostino serves as treasurer of the NBA PR Directors Association and is a member of the voting board of the New York Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, as well as the Museum of Radio-TV and the Society for American Baseball Research. In addition to his Knicks duties, D»Agostino has assisted in overseeing the press setup for the last four NBA Finals and the last two NBA All-Star Games. He also serves as a statistician/historian on Fox»s and ESPN»s coverage of Major League Baseball, including the World Series in 1998, 2000, 2001 and 2002. A native of Brooklyn, NY, D»Agostino lives in Huntington Beach, Cal., with his wife, Los Angeles Times sportswriter Helene Elliott.
