The tale is found virtually exclusively in Germany, although Marie Campbell found a variant in Kentucky, ‘The Flower of Dew’. The story is known in many English translations as ‘Jorinda and Jorindel.»Jorinde und Joringel’ ist ein Märchen (ATU 405).
