A collection of satirical essays and pamphlets that were published in England in 1708-1709. The essays were written under the pseudonym Isaac Bickerstaff and were directed at various public figures of the time particularly astrologer John Partridge, who was ridiculed for his often wrong predictions. The essays were written in a humorous and mocking tone and were highly successful in their time. The Bickerstaff-Partridge Papers is considered to be one of Swift’s most important works and is still widely read today.
