Louisa May Alcott
Flower Fables

Soporte
‘Flower Fables’ was the first work published by Louisa May Alcott and appeared on December 4, 1849. The book is a compilation of fanciful stories first written seven years earlier for Ralph Waldo Emerson’s daughter, Ellen Emerson. It contains wildly imaginative stories that grew out of Alcott’s experience as a storyteller to the children of her Concord, Connecticut, neighbours. Through these enticing encounters with fairies, elves, and animals, the author creates a foundation for young people based on the themes of love, kindness, and responsibility.

These stories are part of a large body of fantasy fiction the author wrote throughout her career and are imbued with the lushness of Alcott’s love of the natural world.
