Steve Cole, geboren 1971, verbrachte eine glückliche Kindheit im ländlichen Bedfordshire. Er wurde mit Büchern groß und studierte ab 1989 an der University of East Anglia, um noch mehr Bücher zu lesen. Nach seinem Abschluss mit Auszeichnung in Englischer Literatur und Film ging er verschiedenen Tätigkeiten nach. Unter anderem war er verantwortlich für Kindersendungen der BBC und Chefredakteur bei BBC Worldwide. Heute hat er sein eigenes Unternehmen, widmet sich aber als freier Autor auch mehr und mehr dem Schreiben. Steve Cole lebt in Buckinghamshire, England.
