During a chance encounter with a dying woman, she hears of a secret that changes her life in many ways. She befriends Jamie, a stranger with a mysterious past. In a dramatic twist of events, Sofia is drawn into the lifes of others who, like her, struggle to overcome poverty and sorrow.

Bea Eschen was born in Germany and has lived abroad since 1984. Currently she is at home in Sydney, Australia. Her life to date in South Africa, New Zealand and Australia has given her many experiences that inspire her to write.
