A propos de l’auteur

George Mac Donald (1824-1905) was a Scottish author, poet and Christian minister. He was a pioneering figure in the field of modern fantasy literature and the mentor of fellow writer Lewis Carroll. In addition to his fairy tales, Mac Donald wrote several works on Christian apologetics. His best-known works are ‘Phantastes’, ‘The Princess and the Goblin’, ‘At the Back of the North Wind’, and ‘Lilith’, all fantasy novels, and fairy tales such as ‘The Light Princess’, ‘The Golden Key’, and ‘The Wise Woman’. Mac Donald’s use of fantasy as a literary medium for exploring the human condition greatly influenced a generation of notable authors, including C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien.
