The recognition and naming of animals occurs at a key learning stage for the very young. This series introduces both the familiar and the unfamiliar, the small and the large, the beautiful and the ugly – even the fierce. Titles explore four different environments where animals are found. Text is simple for ‘read to’ explanation by an adult or early reading practice, and, for the very young, there is a simple "I am" sentence to introduce each animal.
