Biopolymers Based Advanced Materials

Support

Biopolymers have gained increasing importance in the development of numerous environmentally friendly materials for a wide variety of applications. The development of strategies such as blending, bio-nanocomposites as well as structural modifications such as chain extension and hyperbranching has further enhanced their potential. The resulting advanced materials have the potential to compete with traditionally used non-biodegradable polymers, thus, eventually replacing them. The book targets many such advanced biopolymers based systems and presents deep insights into their generation, properties and performance in different applications. The book is a valuable reference for chemical, biochemical and materials engineers, as well as plastics and coatings technologists. It presents a wealth of information for the practicing scientists and researchers in both industry and academia. The book also serves as a reference text for the postgraduate university students in materials, polymer, chemical and bio-engineering disciplines.
