Four Generations under One Roof is divided into three parts: Puzzling, Stealing Life, and Famine, with nearly a million words, it is the longest one of Lao She »s works, and it is also the work takes the longest writing time, the most energy-consuming, and the most difficult completion process. The work takes the occupied area of Peking during the Anti-Japanese War as the background, and takes the life of the four generations of the Qi family as the main line.
