Doctor en Ciencia Política de la Universidad de Carolina del Norte (Chapel Hill). Profesor titular y director de la Escuela de Ciencia Política de la Universidad Diego Portales. Sus intereses académicos se han orientado al estudio de los procesos políticos en Chile y América Latina. Entre sus recientes publicaciones destacan El Pacto (Ediciones UDP, 2012), El Fraude (Hueders, 2013), y como editor (junto a R. Castiglioni) de Política Comparada sobre América Latina (UDP, 2015).
