Theodore Goodridge Roberts (1877-1953) was a Canadian novelist and poet, soldier and journalist. Born into a literary family, he had his first poetry published when only 12. As a journalist he was sent to Cuba to cover the Spanish-American War and developed malaria, which would trouble him for the rest of his life. He was a world traveler and served with the British army in the First World War.
