From the Golden Age to Donald J. Trump’s Republican Party, a Brief Political History of America: The Commonwealth of Pyrates 

America began as a crude criminal enterprise to steal Spanish gold, silver, and land under the abusive Stuart dynasty. While England had undergone a liberal political transformation after 1688, America remained as conservative as their original Stuart patrons dominant during the founding seventeenth century. By 1715, American pirates fought to maintain their conservative society. After all, the author of "A General History of the Pirates" called America a "Commonwealth of Pyrates." He was absolutely right! And, pirates we remained! Donald J. Trump is merely a symptom of the culture Americans made for themselves. Still, we made a Bill of Rights that handicapped our founders and gave us the chance to create a progressive society. It’s quite telling that Republicans today have to repeatedly violate the Constitution to get what they want!
